Founder and Programme Director of Make The Jump

(she/her)

Sydney Bautista is the founder of Make The Jump, a nonprofit organisation empowering Asian creatives in the UK to break through cultural and industry barriers. With a background in education, talent management, and university recruitment, Sydney has dedicated her career to creating opportunities and fostering pathways for individuals to achieve their full potential.

Motivated by her own experiences navigating cultural challenges and often being the only person of Asian heritage in the room, Sydney launched Make The Jump to connect experienced mentors with young creatives and career switchers. The programme provides tailored guidance to help participants thrive in competitive creative fields, equipping them with the confidence, skills, and networks needed to succeed.

Sydney’s experience includes working with leading brands such as Jo Malone, adidas, and Sky, as well as speaking at conferences with the multi-award-winning talent management agency, SHFT. In previous roles, she worked at a grassroots level within the education system, collaborating with local councils, universities, and their sponsors to inspire young children to dream big and support young adults in exploring future career pathways.

Through her work, Sydney is committed to building a more inclusive creative industryβ€”one where talent is nurtured, and cultural barriers no longer stand in the way of success.
